GVO Hair Collection began in 2018 during one of the most financially difficult times in my life. I could no longer afford to get my hair done, and I was tired of spending money I didn’t have on stylists who were often late or rude. I decided to take matters into my own hands and began watching YouTube videos to teach myself how to make wigs. I started by sewing each wig by hand, and as I grew, I continued watching videos until I learned how to construct wigs using a sewing machine.

Along the way, I began wearing glueless wigs because I wanted to stop applying damaging glue to my scalp. Giving my natural hair a break helped it become healthier and allowed my edges to grow back. But over time, I realized that my journey was about so much more than hair. Hair is deeply personal and spiritual—it can be connected to a woman’s identity, confidence and how she sees herself. God eventually revealed the purpose behind the gift He gave me. Many of my clients live with illnesses and medical conditions that have caused them to lose their hair, and being able to create wigs that help them feel beautiful, confident and like themselves again means everything to me. What began as a solution during a difficult season of my own life has grown into a purpose-driven business dedicated to helping women protect their natural hair, restore their confidence and remember that they are still beautiful—with or without hair.
